Featured Project 2 - Salvage: OTM 3072 (Artic Lift 1)
The Miller Family purchased the OTM 3072 (Now the Articlift) from insurers in an as is where is condition on anchor at Gaspe, Quebec. The Barge was involved in an incident where it capsized losing all its cargo in stormy adverse conditions in the Gulf of St. Laurence.
Pat Miller Jr. organized a salvage team that was comprised of the M/V Western Tugger, M/V Northern Tugger, the barge Labmover, welders, pumping equipment, complete diving team equipped to do welding, cutting, video recording etc.
The salvage took a total of 19 days start to finish and the barge presently is in service trading on the eastern seaboard moving cargos on a regular bases.

Major Quantities of Work Preformed: Provided on a daily bases, guard duties for the seismic vessel M/V Sanco Spirit. Provided water sampling when required, regular reporting of any ice sightings, reporting of vessel activities.

Brief Description of Work: Providing movement of all rebar for total project; 43,000 metric tonnes.
Major Quantities of Work Preformed: Receiving and stevedoring services at the Port of Sorel, Supervising loading at Sorel. Providing tug and barge for movement of steel from Sorel, Qc to Long Pond, NL. Providing stevedoring services at Long Pond including craneage and trucking.

Location: Quebec region
Brief Description of Work: Miller Shipping has an annual agreement for moving their wood from Anticosti Island to markets in the Quebec region.
Major Quantities of Work Preformed: We provide our tug M/V Western Tugger and the barges Articlift and Lablift. We operate on a load and go bases, dropping barges off at different ports while they are being loaded or unloaded in order to more efficiently utilize the tug’s time.

Brief Description of Work: Miller Shipping has an annual agreement on moving aggregate from various ports to PEI.
Major Quantities of Work Preformed: We provide our tug M/V Western Tugger with our barge Articlift to move different aggregate products, up to 7,000 metric tonnes per movement.
